The Creative Research Center is part of the English Department at NMSU. It functions as a media and technology/critical making lab, supporting and encouraging creative and research activity for faculty, instructors, and students in the Department, as well as hosting frequent workshops on the use of media, technology, and makerspaces in research, creative work, and pedagogy. The Center’s guiding mission is to cultivate work that is articulated at the intersection of creativity and critical inquiry. Additionally, the Center produces a wide variety of print, web, and other design materials for Department events, as well as those from other areas in the NMSU community.

The Center maintains several ongoing activities:

The Creative Research Series, The Anti-Oppression Media Clinic, the Imaginative Futures Clinic, and the Digital Humanities Clinic, as well as several pedagogy workshops.
